Our stickiest habit is our mindset.
You can work on all of the parts of voice and speech but if you don’t believe in what you are saying, if you aren’t clear about why you are saying it, it just won’t connect. Further, if you let doubts about whether you will achieve your ends infect the process as it unfolds, your content will be dead on arrival.
At its core, all communication is about connecting with other humans for specific ends. Problems arise when we doubt our ability to connect and when we question our own authority to speak. This mindset must shift.
What are your goals? What do you need to happen? Who is your audience

psst: Laura Gassner-Otting has a phenomenal new book, Limitless. I loved it and while we are talking about mindset, I cannot recommend more.
